Christian Counseling For Youth, Individuals, Couples & Families

Truth in Love Community was born out of a two-fold desire: to provide quality Christian counseling to all people regardless of financial resources, and to help raise up the next generation of clinically skilled Christian counselors. By establishing a place for master’s level interns to practice counseling under the supervision of experienced, licensed therapists, we gain the ability to offer that counseling at a minimal cost.

Truth in Love Community is located in the lower level of Eastview Bloomington Campus at 401 W Union. Interns serve individuals whose gross household income is less than $25,000 a year and families whose gross household income is less than $40,000. There is no fee for this service, but donations are welcome. Proof of income will be required during the intake session.

All student counselors will be closely supervised. For educational purposes, and to meet most university requirements, all sessions will be videotaped. Once reviewed with a supervisor all video will be deleted. We have the highest commitment to our clients’ privacy and confidentiality and to ensuring each client gives fully informed consent.

Appointment hours vary based on student schedules and may change over semester transitions. Appointments will be available during daylight hours only on weekdays and possibly Saturdays. To make an appointment, call 309-684-8066.

We gladly welcome referrals from churches and agencies who need additional resources for their members and clients!

Through the sessions I have sat in, I have seen their mission statement
in action by the way the counselors interact with each other. The counselors take the time to tell
the clients that they are valued by God and that has been really great to see. This is where
speaking the truth in love comes into play because, if the client is open to it, the counselors will
tell them the truth of God’s love and how much He loves each and every one of us.
